I can’t comprehend
this Molotov cocktail
of emotions
in my brain like
hormonal explosives.

I’ve tried to explain
away the ticking, as if
it was just my period,
the IUD, stress, but
it’s like someone taped
together the wrong wires
after I had already
diffused.
