the last few days, she’s been in your head, but you havent been in hers. somehow, it didnt occur to you until you told someone else. its painful but refreshing to have your longing wishes killed, and with your back to the past and your eyes to the future, its much simpler to start anew.
there is still a bud of hope in you.
a heavy sigh, a smile.
if it blossoms to realization, you will be fulfilled, satisfied, but if it wilts and crumbles to ash, you will be happy still.
this is a warm embrace.
this is what it means to be yourself.
love fills your mouth and floods your lungs, sickly sweet
you shut your eyes and breathe it in
if it hurts, you know its real and true
you can smile while bleeding
you will never lose you
so count to ten and let the outside fade
let the waves of sadness slam you, then recede
bare your heart and show it to the sun
tear the wound open so that it can heal
