Trigger Warning: our program often motivates people to discuss their trauma. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, please, take a step back to address emotional flashbacks and trauma before continuing to push yourself. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or the National Suicide Hotline at (1-800) 273-8255.
Listen: the world wants you to hate yourself.
you have been taught to hate a kind of voice.
you have been taught to hate a kind of body.
please don’t forget you always have a choice.
make yourself recall your innocence.
reflect on what you’ve lost, and who’s to blame.
how have you spread your pain beyond yourself?
remember who you were without your shame.
verse yourself in putting faith in others.
push yourself to find a common ground.
train yourself in mercy and compassion.
hatred cannot make the world go round.
know that you are better than your anger.
whatever love you lack can still be found.
