“Those small moments really go a long way…Just a little bit of sunlight in the darkest room make the biggest difference.”—RL Huggar

How it Works:

1: Listen to the Artist Interview
2: Pause and play as you go, pull quotes that resonate with your story into your journal.
3: Journal 15-60 minutes without interruption.

The Love Story behind A Good Man

RL Huggar, Musician, Music Producer, & Full time Dad, discusses battling with self-esteem challenges growing up and how that influenced his need to constantly prove. Today, RL is becoming the example he wants for his daughter, whom he also sees as creative, by learning and practicing more self-awareness and self-acceptance. Though RL admits he still walks around with a chip on his shoulder sometimes, when he connects with God, he is able to let the petty things go and focus on the togetherness that 2020 quarantine has inadvertently taught him—faith, family, and focusing on his love for music.

About RL’s Professional Career as an Artist

RL is a singer, songwriter, and record producer, known for his time as lead singer and songwriter inside Next, the R&B band. As a solo artist, RL is known for his song, “Good Man,” and his debut solo album, RL: Ements.

In his collaborations as a solo artist, he is better known for his duet with Deborah Cox, “We Can’t be Friends,” singing the hook of 2Pac’s track, “Until the End of Time,” and collaborating with Genuine, Tyrese, and Case on “The Best Man I Can Be” in The Best Man movie soundtrack.
