How it Works:
1: Listen to the Artist Interview
2: Pause and play as you go, pull quotes that resonate with your story into your journal.
3: Journal 15-60 minutes without interruption.
Gabe Otto
The Love Story behind Pan Astral
Meet Gabe Otto
Born among Denver’s pioneering indie-electro acts, Pan Astral began as a basement collaboration. Incorporating live art, projection mapping and unorthodox light shows to their new wave indie-rock, Pan Astral break the confines of music genres.
Gabe Otto explains how his need to artistically express drives him. In art school he learned to constantly redo what you’ve already done. As a result, you will find where you’re scared to go is where you should be. Similarly, he says stop making your art beautiful, instead focus on making it honest.
He also talks about how as a culture we are all suffering. Due to his emphatic nature, Gabe sees that communal pain and uses his music as a response. Ultimately stating his own suffering is worth it so long as someone relates to his music.
“We are, in this culture, being abused. And we don’t know it. We are slowly allowing atrocity to encroach… allowing darkness to creep its way in. Our pupils are dilating more and more so it seems like it’s still light out. But it’s getting darker, and we’re just sitting there. We need to move to the sun.” — Gabe Otto
