The Love Story behind “Goodbye Los Angeles”

Meet Colin James

Soulful singer and songwriter Colin James unveils the journey that wrote “Goodbye Los Angeles.” After leaving  a beautiful relationship, Colin arrived in Los Angeles for the first time, due to a calling, or sense, of something greater waiting for him on the West Coast. For five months, Colin attempted to make music and find that “something.” However, he was met with disappointment. So, he returned to his family in Ohio.
Before departing Los Angeles, Colin wrote his goodbye song. The song was a premonition, or promise, to himself that he’d return and fulfill whatever needed to happen there. Within a year, Colin returned. He’s still in Los Angeles. While he might be struggling, he feels he’s closer to achieving his goals for Los Angeles. After all, Colin believes music communicates connection and belonging.
