“Dependency is not born into someone, it grows like a weed until it cannot be contained. It can be cultivated by others to manipulate your emotions and control how you think about others.”

I am your long brown hair
touching the dimples on your back,
hiding the horrendous scar on your back.
I am your safety net.
Styled to perfection,
no one can see your imperfections.
Oh, but I can.
how vain of you, child,
to want me for beauty and pride.
You cry and whimper
about my transformation,
but you needed it, darling.
I was no longer just for beauty.
You used me for your narcissism.
I will grow.
But for now,
please let me go.
