He was a tree.

His mind was an insipid ocean of subtle waves.

His thoughts were always,

His heart was never.

 

Duplicitous as the day,

Weak as the absolute,

Courageous as the seed,

Complacent as the time before,

Wasteful as the weary,

Unnerving as the unknown.

 

She was a cloud.

Her words were an expected arrival of loss.

Her memories were dancing.

Her existence was still.

 

Chivalrous as the night,

Strong as the destitute,

Timorous as the pine,

Determined as the world to come,

Careful as the cunning,

Beautiful as the beset.
