Trigger Warning: our program often motivates people to discuss their trauma. You need to get out.

Get out of this house, this city, this country, this body.

You don’t feel like you.

You don’t feel like yourself

You don’t even know who you are anymore.

You scratch at your skin in agony.

It doesn’t feel like your skin.

You can’t feel your own nails digging at the skin.

You see the skin turn red but don’t feel it.

You need to get out.

You start hitting the walls as if that would break them.

You hit and hit but it doesn’t budge.

You start to kick the door and it doesn’t budge either.

Nothing budges.

You hit and hit until it’s hard to breathe; nothing budges.

You want to get out.

Out of this house, this city, this country.

This body.

“I just need out” you scream.

For a little while.

Just a little while.
