I never knew I could love a color.
A bright, lovely color that would be stuck in my mind all day,
Blinking and smiling.
I only get glimpses of it.

But they’re everywhere
In the tiny notes of Sinatra songs,
The butterflies that mingle with their friends in my stomach,
The ocean, reflecting for miles.

Ever present in the skips of my heart
When I see that color staring back at me.
I hear that color in the sound of that laugh,
So perfect on its own.

They’re burned in my mind,
Living there,
The color I miss so dearly
Until I witness it again.
