“Well–it’s like a physical pain now. Where my heart physically is. Just, like, it hurts sometimes. It’s weird. It’s like an actual pain.”

All journal entries are inspired by true events. Some of the characters, names, businesses, incidents, and certain locations and events have been fictionalized for dramatic purposes. Any similarity to the name, character or history of any person is entirely coincidental and unintentional.

The storm clouds were rolling past, racing across the sky with outstretched tendrils of vapor reaching to the Earth. The trees bent and billowed; leaves ruffled against each other as if to say “don’t fret, I love you’; the sound current created by the wind in the distance sounded like thunder. You felt the wind whip your curls around your face. Against the dark sky, the trees appeared black.

To the North West, you saw a lamppost emitting an orange light. Breathing in the air, it felt like all Hallow’s Eve in July humidity. Your breathing was steady as you let the wind into your nose to circle in your body. The beauty of the storm brought you peace.

Later that night, the rain and thunder woke you from your sleep. You pulled the covers up to your chin and snuggled into your pillow. Lightning brightened your room and you smiled as your eyes drooped closed while the room darkened.

Peace in the storm brings restful nights and kind dreams.
